A dream as a place of meeting or From Integrated psychotherapy to Integrative one, i.e., from a finished integration to another integration
Vol.3,No.2(2009)
A dream is a source of self-cognition. Deep, dynamic, humanistic and interpersonal psychotherapy as well handle with dreams. The basic stone was laid by S. Freud, founder of psychoanalysis and psychotherapy. He considered the dream as a royal way to the unconsciousness. F. Perls, founder of Gestalt therapy, brought the other method of work with dreams – psychodrama. F. Knobloch, founder of Integrated psychotherapy, has used psychodrama while working with dreams as well. A client is talking step by step on behalf of all elements of his dream - including persons, animals, plants or things and objects. Client’s emotions and suppositions that Knobloch perceives as transference appear during this work. Author of this article, late Knobloch´s student, is using psychodrama while working with dreams too. However he has connected playing roles with work with circles - an original, undemanding technique (Kubánek, 2008). It is inspired by conception of self-defeating behaviour. Due to this technique a dream becomes a real place of meeting with client. We can learn about client´s self-defeating behaviour, his positive sources, but also orientate ourselves where and how we can help. We are also revealing space for cooperation with other psychotherapeutic systems.
