The Concentrative Movement Therapy - An introduction

Abstract

The main purpose of this article is to introduce Concentrative Movement Therapy (CMT), a psychotherapeutic approach, which connects sensory awareness, focus on therapeutic movement and body work with symbolization processes in theory, also in practice. The frame of the approach is based on psychodynamic thinking and doing. The aim of the text is to offer examples of therapeutic practices, theory of approach and to introduce briefly this relatively less known approach into Czech and Slovak psychotherapeutic community.
