The training of future psychotherapists in integrative psychotherapy and the concept of work with circles

Vol.5,No.1(2011)

Abstract

The article describes work with circles in integrative training. The author paints a picture of the way he came to work with circles, of everything that can be by these plotted circles described and how they are, on a neuroanatomic and neurophysical level, correlated to individual, closely connected zones of the circle. It tells us about where we can find similarities with these circles in other psychotherapy systems. Further, the author is also offering circles as a map for various aims of therapeutic interventions and for better understanding of the differences and similarities of various psychotherapeutic guidelines and training. Last but not least, it identifies circles as a base structure, a clear integrated model which is possible, in integrative training, for participants to rely on and yet still have great freedom. In circles, there are an enormous number of hidden combinations for individual styles of the creative work of participants, and also space for further integration, development and exploration.
