Vyučování jazyků v jejich kulturním kontextu

Vol.14,No.3(2004)

Abstract
Is the common model of teaching English (as a low context language) which is aimed at pure drill and performance the most suitable one for teaching other foreign languages? The illustrations
of Chinese as an epitome of a highly contextual language and of IntCultNet project aimed at coping with the tension between high- and low-context culture and communication patterns impose a question whether it would not be more appropriate to teach a language within the underlying social and cultural context. The results of a linguistic survey realized by the authors support their conclusions.
