Abstract
Recent research of Cretaceous black flysch of the Rača Unit tentatively named as the "Gault Flysch" enabled to extend the upper range of this formation upward to the early part of the Turonian. Relatively low tectonically disturbed section through the "Gault Flysch" near Bílá in the Moravskoslezské Beskydy Mts. provided agglutinated foraminifera of following levels: ?Lower Cretaceous (without significant fauna), Albian-Cenomanian (Plectorecurvoides alternans Zone), Turonian (with Uvigerinammina praejankoi). Overlying Kaumberg Formation contains Turonian assemblage with Uvigerinammina praejankoi and U. cf. jankoi. The evidence of the Turonian in the "Gault Flysch" opens the question of simultaneous co-existence of the black flysch and variegated beds facies within the Rača Unit.
