Two lessons from the art of gardening–the use of metaphors in solution-focused therapy

Abstract

The article concerns the use of metaphors in solution-focused therapy. In the first part of the text authors offer their view on metaphors and their possible connections to solution-focused therapy. Following parts are devoted to two types of metaphors – client generated metaphors and therapist generated metaphors. Authors offer clues to utilize both types of metaphors as well as case examples from their practice.
