Bodily experiencing and psychosomatics

Vol.2,No.1(2008)

Abstract

Current psychotherapies include both cognitive oriented and body oriented approaches. Dealing with psychosomatic phenomena offers an opportunity for meaningful integration of both dimensions mentioned above. Focusing method, developed by E. T. Gendlin on the basis of psychotherapy research is an approach directly working with bodily experiencing and subsequent cognitive processing that can be successfully used in psychosomatics.
