Therapeutic community for clients with personality disorders

Vol.2,No.3-4(2008)

Abstract

An application of the therapeutic community concept in severe personality disorders´ treatment is new in our country. It enables to overcome some limits, which other forms of therapy are not able to. The therapeutic cycle of interaction, exploration and experimentation proceeds in community social system practically all the day (both in structured programme and leisure). Inevitable conditions represent the culture of enquiry and living learning situations. How these principles are implemented into the practice is demonstrated at the example of therapeutic community Kaleidoskop. Three elements of its organizational structure are presented: programme, clients’ posts and community rules.
