One Moon Is Not Enough

Vol.1,No.3-4(2007)

Abstract

James Thurber´s story Many Moons was first published several decades before the establishment of the therapeutic approaches that recognized the client as an expert. In a children´s story of a princess, who insisted that getting Moon would bring her relief in her sadness, we can distinguish some of the basics of constructivistic thinking. It is especially a turn away from an objectivistic point of view towards the acceptance of a plurality of descriptions and turning away from the expert position of a helping person.
