Systemic Supervision: experience from Tavistock Clinic

Abstract

Tavistock clinic has been since 1970`s a place of cultivation of systemic thinking. There is a presence of historic memory within the walls of different frequently contradictory, aspects defining the term systemic therapy: from strategic to „solution focused “, from narrative to collaborative and dialogical. All of these aspects are in one way or other mirrored in the view of systemic supervision as taught in the Tavistock in present time. Author of this article who has herself graduated systemic supervision course in Tavistock, presents a brief overview of development and present understanding of the term systemic supervision.
