From exhaustion to joy: An example of Solution Focused Brief Therapy

Abstract

The following text is an example of solution focused brief therapy with the transcriptions of therapeutic sessions. The effectiveness of therapy is measured by Outcome Rating Scale (ORS). The client suffers from psychosomatic issues; namely exhaustion; digesting problems; weight loss and complicated family relationships. The client wants to aim the therapy on restoring her energy and finding lost freedom. The case study is focused on co-creation of goaling process. Therapeutic work is characterized by common tools of solution focused brief therapy: goal setting; utilizing resources and using scales. A follow-up interview (3 months after therapy termination) which considers client’s point of view on the changes after therapy is also included in this case study.
