NĚKTERÉ ASPEKTY MIGRACE CHLOROVANÝCH ETYLÉNŮ NA PŘÍKLADU LOKALIT V KARPATSKÉ PŘEDHLUBNI

Abstract
Localities situated in the Carpathian Foredeep offer unique possibility for the detection of the DNAPL free phase accumulation. The Badenian clays found in depths of only few meters below ground surface are forming capillary barrier preventing downward migration of the free phase DNAPL. By collecting ground water samples from the different depths of the saturated zone marked zones with higher concentrations were found, indicating presence of the DNAPL pool. Higher concentrations close to the ground water level as a reflection of the source in vadose zone were found too. This method seems to be very useful in distinguishing residual and pool DNAPL in the source of the contamination, where the DNAPL is likely to be present.
