SEDIMENTY MIOCÉNU A KVARTÉRU ODKRYTÉ V ZEMNÍKU U SUDOMĚŘIC

Abstrakt
In the gravel pit near Sudoměřice (South Moravia) section of the Miocene and Quarternary sediments was documented. Miocene sandstones at the base of the excavation are part of the Bílovice Formation of the Vienna Basin. Quarternary (Pleistocene) succession consists of proluvial sediments (red gravels and silts) and deluvial sediments (solifluction flows). Entire psefitic material of proluvial gravels came from the adjacent Magura Flysch (Antonínek and Nivnice Formations) as evidenced by quantitative pebble analysis. Red matrix of gravels and red silts got their coloration from the Kaumberg Formation. Proluvial silts contained Lower Miocene foraminiferal fauna reworked probably from the Karpatian (uppermost Lower Miocene) sediments preserved in erosional remnant at Žerotín Hill nearby. Repeated solifluction flows are composed of clays, silts and limestones of the Bílovice Formation. They contained abundant gastropods, bivalves, foraminifers, and ostracodes of the Sarmatian age (uppermost Middle Miocene). Nubeculariaserpulid limestone represents interesting biofacies found at the locality.
