Petrographic study of the Lower Carboniferous sediments at the map sheet 25-123 Hranice proved differences between pebble composition of older Moravice and younger Hradec-Kyjovice conglomerates. From the viewpoint of petrofacial analyses, the both formations were supplied from recycled orogen. Heavy mineral assemblages and chemistry of detrital garnets reflect substantial share of highly metamorphosed crystalline rocks.
