Two shallow boreholes were drilled in the garden area of the Vila Tugenhat cultural sight. Various colour clays were recognized beneath a layer of loess. Based on the studies of foraminiferal assemblages sediments were assigned to the Lower Badenian. The microfauna are characteristic of deep colder water of an circalittoral. Taxa such as Bolivina dilatata Rss., Globocassidulina oblonga (Rss.), Cassidulina laevigata dOrb., Bulimina striata dOrb., Siphonodosaria adolphina (dOrb.), Pullenia bulloides (dOrb.) predominate. Numerous radiolarians also occur among the foraminifers.
