Anthropology of rock art: Journey to the Côa valley

Abstract

This anthropologic study presents prehistoric rock art in the Côa Valley, Portugal. The study focuses on discovery of this unparalleled archaeological site and on subsequent endeavour to conserve it. The texts are based on empirical data gathered during field research. The study strives for describing, analysing and interpreting several samples from the greatest gallery of prehistoric engravings in the world that have preserved under the open sky.
