The future of professional self-government

Abstract
The text deals with the problems of professional self-government and its po­sition in the present organization of public administration in the Czech Republic. It concers the relation between the professional self-government and the state represented by legislative, executive and judicial power. Particularly regarding to recent endeavours of the government to subordinate chambers of professional self-government, it is referred to the fact, that a state has enough possibilities of influencog the professional self-government by legislation and judicial power. However, it is not very convenient to give this power to the state authority. From the point of view de lege ferenda, the text is concerned with the possible modifi­cation of professional self-government by changing a compulsory membership to voluntary one observing the statutory with keeping public and legal attributes of the chamber towards all members of given profession.
