ICTY and War Crimes Prosecution

Vol.8,No.2–3(2006)

Abstract
The article briefly discusses the creation of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), its legal and time dimensions as well as the scope of the crimes that fall under the jurisdiction of the ICTY. The author also discusses criticism of the lengthiness of the trials and debates the reasons for this: the role of the peacekeepers, problems inherent to international law, etc.
