Changes of „female“ and „male“ sexuality in a cultural anthropology debate
Vol.6,No.2(2015)
Within a cultural anthropology debate the author deals with dichotomy of human sexuality, or more precisely works on the boundary of the concept of sexuality as „female“ and „male,“ and the concept which are both more or less „hybridized.“ The author observes human sexuality especially on the cognitive-affective level, especially as sexuality experienced by a member of given sex but also by a member of the opposite sex, that is in a certain period more or less in accordance with the conative (behavioral) level or that is at the moment in a certain conflict due to various reasons. In the analytical and interpretative part the author also relies, besides other things, on results of her own qualitative research in which the main respondents were undergraduate and postgraduate female students. The female students primarily commented on „male“ sexuality, where the key points were their own viewpoints, opinions, and experience, which contributed to shape an image about their own sexuality. However, the author realizes that this image can be reduced. Conclusions of the research lead to real changes of „female“ and „male“ sexuality, to disruption of frequently simplified, even stereotypical images about human sexuality which has its own deep biological basis but also no less significant sociocultural contexts and determinants.
