Current Knowledge About Physical Activity Of Futsal Referees

Abstract

This review study uses empirical results and maps the current knowledge about physical activity of futsal referees in a match. Results: Referee movement is an intermittent character of the game. Distance, which exceeds the referee in the match locomotion is in the range of 4.5 to 5.9km. Forward locomotion is the dominating physical activity (about 45 % of game time). The referee changes the kind of locomotion on average every 3.5 seconds; the total number of acyclic physical activities amounts to an average of 5 for every 1 minute of game time. The average heart rate of referees in the game is in the range of 75–81 % of their maximum heart rate#. The inconsistency is in determining the dominant intensity level in which the referees spend most of their time during the match. Finally, blood lactate values after the match were 1.5–1.8 mmol.l–1.
