Socio-Political Determinants Of The Czech University Sport

Historically, a University sports movement is the oldest form of the modern sports movement, which was developed on the base of the student professional organisation. The aim of this paper is to briefly analyse the context of socio-political and other specific conditions that feature in Czech university sport in terms of the Austro-Hungary monarchy, democratic and socialist Czechoslovak Republic. There is a specific feature of the Czech university sport which is a symbiosis of sport-science research activities in physical education, acceptance of modern physical education system and non-traditional sports.
