The author submits possible limits of decision making activities of public administration, which can be of legal, political, informational, time, financial or material (facilities) nature, and can be embodied in objectives or tasks, in internal structurization of public administration and in the quality of its members and staff.
One group of the limits is of "positive" nature or value, and observation of them approaches the task mentioned hereafter, while the other, "negative" group of limits should become the subject of reduction or even elimination.
The article offers only one of possible structures of the limits of decision making, related to the contemporary public administration in the Czech Republic. The limits form, altogether with the principles of decision making activities, a variable and complex system. The knowledge and utilization of both limits and principles can create the basis for improvement of public administration activities.
