The conflict between the right to information and protection of personal data in connection with meetings of the municipal council

Vol.21,No.2(2013)

Abstract
The public administration in the Czech Republic, it means also the boards of representatives on various levels, try to be step by step more modern and open, which is connected with the necessity to inform the widest public about its activity. One of the ways, within the framework of right for informations, is to present to eweryone the work of elected representatives by broad casting of their session and especially later by the possibility to watch the recording of such a session.
However, it brings a danger of interference with other rights, for example with protection of privacy, particularly in the form of personal data.
This contribution deals also from constitutional point of view with the conflict of these two values, on the one side right for informations and on the other side protection of personal data, in the connection with the recordings.
