In the market economy the bili of exchange gains considerable importance as a perfect commercial paper, made out in a form prescribed by the law, by which the drawer orders the drawee to pay the payee a sum certain in money on the date when the bill of exchange falls due. However, the bill of excbange is not a product of current market economy, but an age-old legal institution, the rise and development of which is closely connected with the development of business relations and, in relation to these, withb the development of business law.
