International Law Regulation of Peaceful Utilization of Atomic Energy (Selected Issues)

Vol.2,No.4(1994)

Abstract
Main directions of the possible development of international atomic law could be found in the field of the safety of nuclear installations and liability for nuclear damages. In the first case, where the standards of the IAAE (of recommending nature) are applied for the time being, a new international convention on nuclear safety could be adopted soon.

Within the second trend of the development of international atomic law, to which we can not pay adequate attention here, dealings both on the revision of the Vienna Convention on Civil Liability for Nuclear Damages (1963) and a new protocol on state participance in compensating for nuclear damages through an international fund are underway.
