Czech labour law protects the personality of an employee ín some of its provisions, thus following the regulation comprised in the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms as well as in the Civil Code, both reglementing the protection of personality in a general way.
Labour law provides protection, in particular, to the lives and health of employees in provisions concerning safety and health protectian at work. Apart from that, the name, personal honour, human dignity and good reputation are protected, too.
While looking into the protection of personality of an employee, it is necessary to base such a study not only on a rather brief amount of provisions stipulatd in the Labour Code, but also on provisions included in special legal regulations such as e.g. the Act No. 256/1992 Coll. on Protection of Personal Data in Informative Systems.
