ChatGPT and its use in teaching Czech for foreigners

This paper introduces the possibilities of using chatbot in teaching Czech to foreigners from the perspective of both teacher and student. It presents how to simplify and facilitate the tutor's preparation, how the chatbot is used by students and what are the limits of this tool, especially considering the nature of the language it works with, in this case Czech. It also outlines the creation of the so-called prompts, the quality of which significantly influences the success of communication with the chatbot and therefore the result the user wants to achieve. It shows that working with a chatbot offers new ways for tutors and students to make (self-)education more effective, but at the same time points out the different applicability of chatbots in the field of Czech for foreigners compared to English language.
