Language Needs Analysis of Futurue Non-linguistic Teachers

The paper deals with the English language needs analysis of non-linguists (students who do not major in any foreign language) and who are preparing for the profession of lower secondary school teachers. An emphasis is placed on general English and English for specific purposes. The article presents a concept for a proposed project that aims at improving English language teaching for non-linguists in faculties of education. It also sums up the partial results from the research which was carried out among a target group of students and the aim of which was to determine students’ opinions on the English language competencies they may need in their future profession.
