The article aims at highlighting the importance and necessity of adapting teaching and learning to new tools, concepts and methods. As teaches, our role is not only to provide our students with knowledge but also to equip them with techniques to be used all along their working life. Information and communications technology - or technologies (ICT) involving computers, digital television , cell phones and other technological tools that are in a rapid development , transformation and updating does not have a largely accepted definition as ICT is evolving dramatically being difficult to keep up with it. Nowadays, ICT is a valuable asset for education both for students and teachers. It brings novelty, involvement, interaction and interest into class. It eases both learning and teaching if used in an appropriate way. We have been talking of a knowledge based organizations for some years now. It is time to adapt the way we teach and learn, due to the extensive use of technology and the rapid changes that take place around us, in the academic field as well. By this study we wanted to find out information about the attitude of both students and teachers towards the use of ICT tools in the teaching-learning process, their awareness regarding the benefits in the students’ improvement of the linguistic skills as well as depicting possible causes of a non-exposure to information and communications technologies in class.
