Třídní konflikt v barokních kulisách. Selská vzpoura a zbojnická revolta v historickém filmu a její aktualizační potenciál

Roč.38,č.1(2024)

Abstrakt
The study focuses on depictions of class conflicts during the Baroque period in Czech and Slovak historical films. Czech filmmakers chose as the subject of their films primarily the peasant uprising of the so-called Psohlavci (Dogheads) in 1695. Slovak filmmakers chose mainly the theme of robbery for their films, specifically the character of the robber Juraj Jánošík, who was executed in 1713. All film adaptations are based on Czech and Slovak historical myths. In these myths, peasant rebels and robbers are perceived as folk heroes and representatives of positive values. The study also examines the political use and abuse of these topics in the 20th century and today. Films are a mirror of historical memory. However, films can also become a source of historical memory and, secondarily, help shape the group identity of a national community.
