Abstrakt
The article provides an overview of part of the published CIA material concerning the beginnings of the Cold War and focuses on the personality of Antonín Zápotocký (1884–1957) during his presidential period 1953–1957. An overview and a brief analysis of the materials, including their inclusion in the context of the time, points in particular to information concerning political elites and the process of change at the head of Czechoslovakia in the key years 1953 and 1957.
