The current text shows an image of family life during the First Republic with regard to the reflection of important life events of family in direct connection with their presentation in Czech film and serial production in order to describe and summarize the most frequently depicted phenomenas, to outline the typical features of individual motives and to reveal the intention of the filmmakers to emphasize the given topics. Analysis of individual selected films and series will be subjected to a direct comparison with contemporary reality, professional literature and possibly with literary models, taking into account their didactic views. Due to the relatively different amount of not only film material, it will be possible to focus on the contemporary context of the origin of the films and series being watched within the framework of comparative analyzes.
