The article deals with the restoration of the control mechanism of the Czechoslovakian army in a difficult postwar situation and its changes in the period until 1989, when social changes in Czechoslovakia led to the fall of the totalitarian regime. The paper describes the impact of the changes in the internal political situation on the development of the military and on the change in the character of activities and personnel changes in its control mechanism.
