Abstrakt
The aim of the presented study is to present to today’s society a somewhat forgotten figure of the postwar People’s Democratic Health Minister, lawyer and politician JUDr. Adolf Procházka (1900–1970) and his memories of the time spent in Brno. The study is based on his unpublished memories. After World War I, Adolf Procházka studied law at the newly founded Masaryk University, where he later worked as a teacher. In addition, he worked in the law practice and was engaged in politics where, faithful to family traditions, he worked within the Czechoslovak People’s Party. Thanks to his marriage to the niece of the Čapek brothers Helena Koželuhová, he also gained access to the cultural elite of Czechoslovak society in the 1930s. This study is an insight into the life of the first graduates of Masaryk University in Brno.
