This article is dealing with the problematic of development population protection and civil defence education in Czechoslovakia between 1945 to 1951. It emphasizes the period of the ending of oppression and relation to regaining the effect of some of the prewar regulations (including civil defence education regulations), that were rescind during the occupation. The article will describe two different phases of the postwar approach to civil defencethe phase of hasty but systematic elimination of this field and subsequent phase of revival of the population protection.
