The article deals with the emergence and action of the control mechanisms of the czechoslovak armed forces in the years 1918–1938. Shows what were the contents of the operation of control mechanisms at the time in their head were important figures in the resistance movement during 1. world war Josef Scheiner, Josef Svatopluk Machar, gen Alois Podhajský and general Jan Syrový. At the same time, the content of the article illustrates the complex relationship between the president of the republic, the ministers of defense and senior officials of the army, which is reflected in determining the scope and content of the activity of the control mechanisms since the inception of the republic until termination of the republic until termination of their activities.
