This paper aims to edit and publicize an original copy of a mediaeval charter from a collection of the Archive of Kostelec nad Orlicí, Ref. No. 4, and its ModernAge Czech translation, Ref. No. 5. Both documents are deposited in the State District Archive in Rychnov nad Kněžnou. The charter was issued by Queen Sophia in 1413 for the benefit of the barber Marzan and is a confirmation of a charter dated 1330 on the basis of which Nicholas of Potštejn granted the barber Světlík a spa in Kostelec n. Orlicí as a hereditarily property and exempted it from taxation. This insert is provided separately under No. 1 for the Latin version and under No. 2 for the Czech translation. The foreword is appended with a description of the documents from the diplomatic and paleographic perspectives and their contents are analysed.
