The aim of the article is to introduce a less known chapter from the history of Czechoslovak military intelligence before World War II. This is a recruitment action through a fictive banking institution of Franz Dobianer and secret intelligence center in the border region with Germany. The article shows the methods of work of Czechoslovak military intelligence against Nazi Germany and it is based on an analysis of archival sources from the Military Historical Archive, Archive of Security Services, National Archives in Prague (Czech Republic) and Bundesarchiv – Militärarchiv in Freiburg (Germany).
