Significant activities in the Czech labor movement before the emergence of the Czechoslovak republic were efforts betwen the two largest socialist trade union focal points about their mening. The article traks the individual activities and efforts of the social democratically oriented trade association (OSČ) and the national socialistoriented village workers (ČOD) for the unification, as this process took place even in political parties. After the establishment of the republic is increasingly showing that iťs not just about trade union unity, but for a share of the political power. Therefore remained the unifying efforts unsuccessful.
