Abstrakt
The article analyses the improvement od agriculture in Austria Silesia by introducing new technologies. This proces is known today as the modernization of the agricultural sector. As part of the general modernization of agriculture in the Bohemia Crown Lands (and in the Habsburg Monarchy in general), the Vienna government decided to set up an agricultural society specifically for Austria Silesia. The main purpose of the agricultural societies established at this time was to act in both an advisory and executive capacity on behalf of the government. In Austrian Silesia, The Royal Silesian Agricultural Society in Troppau (Opava) was the most important agricultural society.
