The article is aimed at familiarizing the readers with a very complicated period between the two world wars when the Czechoslovak authorities began to deal with the issue of population protection and education in this field. Apart from the content and scope of individual specialized journals that were published at that period to support national defense capabilities, it presents selected initiatives implemented in order to find solutions in this field. Furthermore, the readers are acquainted with legal documents focused on the aforementioned field and some selected professional publications. Last but not least, the article approaches the practical implementation of certain measures supporting the emerging issue of population protection and education related to this field.
