The purpose of this paper is on the one hand to present a survey of various locations of ancient Emmaus – a village where the risen Christ appeared to the two disciples, one named Cleopas (Luke 24:13–35) – which have been proposed from the earliest time to the present time with brief evaluation of them, and on the other hand to point out the meaning and significance of Emmaus’s mention in Luke 24:13–35.
