The study focuses on an investigation of the action of Czechs in Slovakia, after the creation of Czechoslovakia in 1918, while it brings to light a negative case concerning the Czech officer, Vojtěch Süss, who worked as a superintendent in the Revenue Authority (Tax Office), in Spišská Stará Ves, in 1919. It describes specific examples of negative suzerain behaviour towards subordinates and citizens, committed by V. Süss, during his time in Spišská Stará Ves, from where he had to leave under pressure, in September 1919.
