Abstrakt
Significant anniversaries and days of remembrance have also recently attracted the attention of the creators of comics. Pop culture product thus reflecting historical events resonates not only outside the school, but also passes a reception in the educational process. Specific analysis of comics on the 1st World War and the establishment of Czechoslovakia in this text contributes to naming of the risk elements of comics and its educational potential. It is desirable for the educational process to come to conclusion – comics is primarily an interpretation of reality. Comics (equipped with didactic apparatus) can then serve not only to the development of pupils’ media literacy, but also to a deeper understanding of a particular historical topic. Especially, to understand the reasons why and how the historic event is commemorated today.
