Abstrakt
The pioneers of Czech economic migration to Germany were smallscale production craftsmen and manual workers, especially tailors, shoemakers, carpententers, lochsmith and turners including smaller numbers of food production workers. They became known as good experts whereas some of them did not tabe long to establish their own businesses. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, most economic emigrants were Czech coalminers who had moved with their entire families to the Ruhr Basin.
