The study deals with the possibilities of the use of military history in the preparation of military professionals of the army of the Czech Republic. It shows the factors that influenced and limited the use of knowledge in the field of military history in the preparation of military personnel from 1918 to 1989. Part of the study is also thoughts about the problem of the use military history in the preparation of military personnel after 1989.
