The article describes legal norms of the particular ecclesiastical law of the Prague church province and the Prague and Olomouc dioceses published at synods during the Middle Ages. The author concentrates on legatine, provincial and diocesan statutes involving “spoliatores bonorum ecclesiasticorum et captivatores clericorum”. The frequent appearance of provisions against thieves of church property and those who imprison clergy documents the chronic character of the problem.
