The year 1968 presented in new Czech history a critical year of the protest against Communist conservatism, centralism and bureaucratism. Also the trade unions went through a deep crisis, both within the Czechoslovak society and in international relations. The study describes the efforts of the new management of trade unions to a new trade union policy within the area of links to the trade unions in neighboring countries.
