The result of the department’s scientific research of history is an overview of its educational, research and publication activities between the years 2000–2011. The department provides training for teachers of history and Christian education, carries out an archaeological research of the Great-Moravian settlement in Znojmo-Hradiště, examines the history of the cities in eastern Slovakia in the early-modern period, the history of religious orders in the same period, the history of foreign expatriates, the history of the trade union movement in the 20th century and the use of film in history teaching. The department publishes two journals: Proceedings of the Faculty of Education, range of social sciences and the Czech-Polish Historical and Pedagogical Journal.
