MIKROŠTRUKTÚRY ZUBNÉHO CEMENTU MEDVEĎOV (URSIDAE)

Roč.12,(2005)

Abstrakt

The analysis of dental cementum microstructures was used to determine the age and season of death of bear Ursus deningeri (middle Pleistocene) from Cave Za Hájovnou (Javoøíèko Karst). We were able to establish the individual age for 6.5 years. To his death came sometime in the course of autumn. This was posible on the basis of study of summer and winter increments in the cementum. This is the most reliable and objective method for many mammals.
